Algae on Oil Paint
Major causes are using low-quality oil paint which is not resistant to algae and the location of surface which is probably near area with high humidity such as plumbing or area with no exposure to sunlight. Area with poor ventilation also tends to have algae, such as bathroom and ceiling board. Besides, coating surface on which algae are seen existing without proper fungicidal treatment can exaggerate the problem. Expired anti-algae component in ageing paint is also another cause of algae on oil paint.
